Israel's checkpoints: humiliating, lacking sanitation & so overcrowded.

Every morning, before dawn, tens of thousands of Palestinian workers cross Israeli military checkpoints on their way to their workplaces, in Israeli and Palestinian cities beyond the Green Line.

Hailing from across the occupied West Bank, labourers queue before the checkpoints open, in order to reach their workplaces on time. For many, this means getting up and leaving home at the dead of night.

About 70,000 Palestinians with Israeli work permits make this daily commute. They work beyond the Green Line due to the high unemployment rate in the Palestinian territories – a byproduct of the 50-year Israeli occupation. Read more of Story Here.
