In another act of provocation - Israel announces its decision to annex the West Bank

The Israeli Ambassador to the United Nations Danny Danon on Sunday unveiled Israel’s decision to impose sovereignty over the West Bank.

Danone told a news conference in New York that Israel would not take any steps to impose sovereignty over the West Bank before presenting President Trump’s “Deal of the Century” plan.

He then added that the resolution was a tribute to the efforts made by the Americans in the peace plan they have been working on for nearly two years, following “we will see the details of the plan, and then we will decide.”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also  vowed  to impose full sovereignty over the West Bank, saying that this step would be decided after the formation of the new government.

A spokesman for the right-wing Likud party quotes Netanyahu as saying he was discussing with Washington the possibility of Israel annexing a number of settlements in the West Bank.

Yisrael Katz, a member of the Likud party, said the new Israeli government would apply sovereignty over the West Bank, particularly the settlements, pointing out that the issue would be coordinated with the United States.
